Certified Food Protection Manager Program
(formerly known as Qualified Food Operator [QFO] Certification)
All restaurants in Connecticut are required to have a certified food protection manager on staff. ServSafe® is a nationally recognized food safety education program developed by the National Restaurant Association. ServSafe® meets the Connecticut Public Health Code 19-13-B42 requirements for Certified Food Program Manager certification for Class III & IV food service establishments and the FDA Food Code for Class II, III, and IV.
