Places We Inspect
5/5/2020: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Ledge Light Health District has decided to delay our relicensure process. Your current license will remain in effect until further notice. We will be in communication regarding re-opening guidelines and requirements as soon as those are issued by the Governor’s office and the Department of Public Health. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Tyler Do-Taylor at 860-448-4882, ext. 1346.
An important part of the work we do at LLHD involves inspecting commercial establishments to ensure they are incorporating safe and healthy practices. We consider these establishments to be our partners and work with them to prevent people they serve from getting sick or injured.
We conduct regular and complaint-based inspections of the places listed here – you can learn about the frequency of those inspections, what we look for and what owners/operators are required to do in each of the sections.
The following activities are performed by the District Sanitarians:
- Periodically inspect all establishments that prepare and serve food that is sold or given to the public.
- Review plans and conduct construction inspections for new food service establishments to assure compliance with the CT Public Code.
- Investigate all complaints associated with food service establishments.
- Identify and investigate all reports of foodborne illness (food poisoning).
If you have a question or complaint, even if it is about a type of establishment that is not listed here, please contact us at 860.448.4882 or through the “Contact Us” button at the top of the page.
